While the OIT is primarily an IT Policy organization, our responsibilities also include establishing and administering a structured system for the review, and approval of new information technology initiatives and projects. For capital investment projects, we will require a business case, cost benefit analysis and/or compatibility analysis to justify the state’s expenditures, to ensure the solution is cost-effective, while aligning with the strategic plan. Additionally, this office will promulgate rules, regulations and policies, and establish procedures and standards for the management and operation of information technology by state agencies, to ensure a more consumer-oriented focus.
